Untreated wastes from SAF Tannery at Naoapara in Jessore are dumped into the Bhairab River, dangerously polluting its water and threatening fish and other aquatic creatures there.This is the first ever punishment for polluting environment in the country's South-Western region and also the highest ever penalty awarded to a factory by DoE.
